Summer Swim Team Pre-season Conditioning
The Greater Johnstown Community YMCA Summer Swim Team is a fun, supportive, and competitive program designed to help swimmers build confidence, improve technique, and experience the excitement of team competition. Open to youth swimmers who can swim the length of the pool unassisted, our program focuses on stroke development, endurance, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
As part of the YMCA tradition, we emphasize character development, teamwork, and healthy living. Swimmers will participate in regular practices and local swim meets throughout the summer season, building friendships and lifelong skills both in and out of the water.
Whether your child is new to the swim team or looking to continue developing their competitive edge, the GJY Summer Swim Team provides a positive environment where every swimmer belongs.
GJY Swimming competes in the Western PA YMCA Swim League. Team Uniform GJY swimsuit/cap and t-shirt is an additional fee.
GJY/USA Swimming GJY Swimmers may join the GJY/USA Team for an additional fee and must meet all GJY Membership requirements.
Parents are expected to organize and help at swim meets and participate in fundraising.
Pre-seasoning Conditioning
- Dates: April 13 – May 22, 2026
- Times: 5 to 7 PM
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Ages: 11 & older
- Restrictions: Swimmers must be able to swim ALL four strokes
- Cost: $130.00
Summer Swim Team 2026
- Dates: May 26 – July 17, 2026
- Ages 8 & under: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 5 – 6 PM
- Ages 9 & over: Monday through Friday from 5 – 7 PM
- Cost: $225.00

High School Special
At a reduced rate, swimmers may start and end the season with GJY, but when their school’s team starts practice, they will practice with their home team. The swimmer may practice with GJY on any school canceled days and are able to compete in all GJY swim meets including districts, states, and nationals.
